THE PROCESS

How Chemical Peels Work

01

SKIN ASSESSMENT

Your provider evaluates your skin type, concerns, current skincare routine, and treatment goals to determine which VI Peel formulation is most appropriate for your skin.

02

SKIN PREPARATION

The skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepped to remove oil, makeup, and buildup so the peel solution can penetrate evenly and effectively.

03

PEEL APPLICATION

The VI Peel solution is applied in layers to the treatment area. Mild tingling, warmth, or tightness during application is normal. The solution remains on the skin after your appointment and is washed off at home several hours later per your post-care instructions.

04

PEEL & REVEAL

Over the next several days, the skin begins to exfoliate and shed. As peeling progresses, smoother, brighter, and more even-looking skin is revealed underneath. Peeling typically begins around day 2–3 and resolves within a week.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your VI Peel appointment.
Still have questions?

Most clients experience a mild tingling and warming sensation during the peel application that subsides within a few minutes. The VI Peel is generally well-tolerated, including on sensitive skin. No anaesthetic is required.

Visible peeling typically begins around day 3 and continues through days 5–7. The intensity of peeling varies by formulation and individual skin type. Some clients experience more flaking than visible peeling — both are normal parts of the process.
We recommend avoiding makeup during the active peeling phase — typically days 3–7. Your skin is more vulnerable during this period and needs to breathe and shed freely. Once peeling has completed, mineral-based makeup is acceptable.
Yes. The VI Peel is formulated to be safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types including deeper skin tones. This is one of its key advantages over more aggressive peels that carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in darker skin. Always disclose your skin tone and history during your consultation.
Many clients see meaningful results after a single treatment. For more significant concerns such as melasma, deeper pigmentation, or established acne scarring, a series of 3–4 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended for sustained improvement.
Results from a single peel are typically visible for 1–3 months. Regular treatment — typically quarterly — helps maintain skin clarity, tone and texture over time. The long-term collagen stimulation from repeat peels also contributes to ongoing anti-aging benefits.
Yes — the VI Peel pairs well with neurotoxins, dermal fillers, and microneedling as part of a comprehensive skin treatment plan. Your provider will recommend appropriate timing and sequencing. Typically, injectables are administered separately and microneedling is spaced at least 2 weeks from a peel.

You will receive the full post-peel kit which includes the peel removal towelette, a post-peel protectant, and SPF. Your provider will walk you through how to use each product and when to transition back to your regular skincare routine.
